Batman Street Date broken in Dublin, gamers rejoice.

WIN !!

WIN !!

After a truly epic day of being laughed out of retail shops, I finally got my hands on Arkham Asylum at 18.55 last night and man did it feel good.

As many Boardsies will testify too I was in a bit of state yesterday, after I heard that my fellow posters were playing the game since Wednesday thanks to a retailer in Limerick. After being rejected in various shops in Nutgrove, Quote ” SELL IT TO ME, THEIR PLAYING IT DOWN IN LIMERICK!!!” and Carrickmines, ”Their selling it in Nutgrove, I just came from there its sold out ”

I had all but given up hope that I was going to play it before Friday. Then  as I slumped home after work, baring the scars from many battles, I got the call.

A certain unnamed retailer of video games ……..Rathmines ………. thank you.

Anyway like the gaming crack fiend I am, off to Rathmines I went and played the game until midnight I did.

Watch out for my review on Monday, expect plenty of over the top Batman fanboyism and Hyperbole.

  1. Xtra Vision and it's ilk are great for breaking street dates. Find the one staffer who has no idea of games but knows there's a pile of new ones in the back (their deliveries come on Thursdays) and you're sorted. Black magic and confusion is the name of the game!

thats quite funny alright. is it still a broken street date if they sell it to ya at the last moment of opening the eve before the release?

  3. Hey, my misus was away for the last 2 days, theres a chance I may not get to play tonight…..that extra 12 hours was CRUCIAL :P . Ah I love when things click!
