Scribblenauts to be localised
Scribblenauts launched today in America, with a big kick-off party in the Nintendo World store in NYC’s Time Square.
The game, for Nintendo DS & DSi, features a plethora of little side-scrolling puzzles that are uniquely solved by writing real-world items into the DS that will then drop into the game. So hand-writing the word “Bucket” will drop a bucket into the game world.
The game won best of show at E3 and soon after let down Europhiles by getting a late release date (October 9th) compared to our American cousins.
Now, though, the game is being localized localised for the UK/Irish market. This avoids confusion with the word “football” and “soccer” as well as other words like “diaper” or “sidewalk”.
