Review: Maestro! Green Grove

If you have read my reviews before you will know I am a keen Rock Band/Guitar Hero gamer. I like games that not only involve a unique method of gameplay but some good music to go along with it. So Maestro! Green Grove fits into that catagory nicely. There is a storyline, two opposing men, one a bird looking thing… Continue »

Should you buy Deathspank?

Seeing as nothing free was coming my way this week, I decided to take my own awesome advice to purchase Deathspank at the weekend. I played it, a lot and still didn’t beat it so I won’t have a review up for a few days. I did however get very far into it and can verify that it is fabulously… Continue »

Review: Green Day Rock Band

The latest addition to the Rockband series is punk rock band Green Day. I always found a huge amount of energy in Green Days songs and so thought it would fit perfectly into the average gamer/wannabe rock stars arsenal. There were a few issues I could see. If Harmonix decided that certain Green Day songs were not suitable for the game, they… Continue »

RISK: Factions Review

RISK: Factions was recently released for the Xbox Live Arcade, and being the massive boardgame geek I am (or at least what college has turned me into), I had to pick it up almost immediately. A console version true to the roots in the original board strategy game, RISK: Factions adds new twists and gameplay elements to the game, with… Continue »

Medal Of Honour BETA hands on

Constant crashing aside I played the Beta for several hours last night and for the most part the game is shaping to have a very intense if slightly stiff online component. Developers DICE have proved there online prowess with the immense quality of Battlefield Bad Company so they seemed a natural choice for EA’s Medal of Honour revamp. Players of… Continue »

APB Preview

Creating an online world and tacking on a subscription model to it is a dangerous mindfield to step into with gaming. World of Warcraft has yet to be dethroned in the world of MMO, subscription-based models. Games have risen to the challenge but ultimately failed. It’s not that WoW’s community is too big (thought it helps), it’s that WoW has… Continue »

Want some pre-E3 zombie action? Here...

Finnish developers Housemarque (responsible for Super Stardust amongst others) have just posted a new trailer for their PSN exclusive game Dead Nation on the Playstation blog. It looks like it plays a lot like Zombie Apocalypse but the graphic detail is much much higher, and nice co-op play going on too. Check the vid below. It’s encourging to see small companies put effort… Continue »

MAG Interdiction Pack brings neutral...

I’ve been out of the shadow war for a few months now but plan on making my return to Raven once this pack hits. Many, many gamers are still enjoying the massive tactical experience that is MAG and the news that neutral maps are coming to balance things out is going to blow the loyal community wide open. Its going… Continue »

New Mortal Kombat teaser/short...

I don’t know who wrote or directed this short film for an unannounced new MK project, but the guys who made those awful F.E.A.R 3 promo’s need to get in touch. Try not to get a nostalgia riddled shiver at least once in this hyper-realistic take on the Mortal Kombat universe, I dares ya. The fight scene between Cage and Barraka… Continue »
