Forget Modern infantry combat – we got us sum Zombie killin’ soon!
Sure, the entire world seems to have collectively came at midnight last night, but Modern Warfare 2 is not the only big game coming out at this time of the year. Next Tuesday the 17th, Valve’s shooter sequel, Left 4 Dead 2, will be released; and I, for one, can’t wait.
At first, I wasn’t too keen on the game seeing as most people were touting it as basically a full retail-priced piece of DLC, however after getting my hands on the demo just a few days ago and playing through it a good bit, I’m willing to admit that it does seem to have the workings of a new full release. The core gameplay remains the same, but with so many new aspects added, it really does feel like a sequel rather than anything else. One thing I do know for sure is that to do what most griefers wanted and instead just release it as DLC for the original Left 4 Dead, would horribly break the original in so many ways.
All the new weapons, Infected, equipment, melee weapons and locations fit together so well in the new game, that you can’t just transfer them to the original. Both games are good standalone in their own right. The original for classic gameplay that we’ve all gotten to love by now, and the sequel for all new twists and turns and a new strategy for handling this zombie apocalypse.
If you haven’t yet had a taste of this new form of apocalypse, go download the demo on Steam now. You can still pre-order for the game for €45 (10% off the normal price), and pre-load it before launch day. And if your computer can’t handle the game, then just pretend that this is you playing!

I'm in two minds.
On the one hand I loved L4D, but still didn't play it as much as I should (that's TF2s fault)…. on the same hand, I still feel iffy about Valve pumping a sequel based on the same code at full (for steam) price.
On the other hand – MOAR ZOMBIES
