MAG Mini Preview
A couple of months back we were very grateful to be invited along to a preview of Zipper Interactive super shooter and PS3 exclusive MAG.
After the event we were given a lovingly crafted press kit with some great videos and shots of the game world that Zipper have built for us to kill each other in.
I didn’t write the preview in the end (thanks Kev) but there were a few points that were raised during the Q&A that I never got the chance to voice.
Thanks again to the guys at Sony Ireland for hooking us up!
Here are the results
- The beta is getting massive amounts of good feedback from the community.
- If you buy this game without an Internet connection then you have just purchased a 60 euro coaster. No offline experience and no single player campaign or Bots battle.
- There is going to be some great voice chat features in the game, one of the best we heard of was that once you have ranked up to the head of you’re faction you can address the whole faction on you’re voice channel! Very helpful for rallying the troops and birthing megalomaniacs
- Casual gamers will be catered for, every match you win adds points to the Shadow War and besides the 240 + player matches there will be smaller death matches etc for folks who only have half an hour to drop in an out. This is a hugely complicated game but not if you don’t want it to be.
- Huge amount of after launch support going forward.
- Micro Payments for DLC was not ruled out.
That’s all I had in my notes but it was worth sharing. The game is going to be great and from what I played it feels like COD with a huge amount of RPG/MMO elements happening in the background….think Borderlands except with a huge online experience and with no grinding
Enjoy some vids and screen shots!
