First Play
For some time now, US PS3 owners have had a subscription-based service to get pre-release access to PSN content before the other peasant users. This service is ridiculously called Qore. Europe is getting a similar service, more aptly called FirstPlay.
“As PlayStation 3 moves the gaming experience to a more social and competitive online environment through the PlayStation Network, so it becomes critical that we’re offering gamers the very best content and services through this channel,” said Ray Maguire, Senior VP of SCEE and MD of Sony Computer Entertainment UK. “FirstPlay is a great example of this.”
The service will be provided by Future Publishing, who also publish OPM magazine at a cost of around 99c per episode and €9.99 for a 3-month subscription.
