Clear comparison of costly game systems

An interesting comparison of both the new PS3 Slim and the Xbox 360, in all its various shapes, sizes & prices has been posted, in a nice and easy to understand manner. With a nice fat monotary value underneath.

We’ve seen this xbox-baiting stuff before, but with a new PS3 iteration at a fixed price, it’s hard to see how parents would go for the 360 this Christmas unless a new bundle is launched. The prices are in dollars, but you can clearly see where the value is, even without converting everything over to euro.

If Sony had a bit more gutsy advertisers, they would use these facts & figures to good use!

  1. Definitely interesting but you can remove the hdmi cables and extra hd space

  2. Have Sony really gotten to the stage where they're trying to remind everyone how expensive the competitors are rather than what you're getting out of the PS3? As Mooface above said, take the HDMI and the extra HD out, and things start to look a lot more competitive.

  3. I like that Sony are keeping the HD and Hdmi, Drops the price without dropping the quality. Its a non too clear statement that they stand behind their product – I agree with Kev, Sony need someone outspoken in their marketing department.

  4. No no no, leave the HDMI and HD, smartest move. So much of current/future gaming requires HDD space. Knowing that ALL Sony consoles have a HDD will be good news for developers.
I know the PS3 is good value but I am wondering how it will be sold to the consumer at the likes of GAME for example, as they used to be pushing the Xbox all the time and PS3 was somewhere at the back of the store. No longer!
