Sales down in November
Despite the continued success of exclusive titles on all formats throughout the month leading up to Christmas, and the mega-sales push from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, overall sales figures for the month of November are down for the industry.
$2.7 billion was pulled in at the tills, digital or otherwise, which is a 7% drop in year-on-year figures. Some of that is related to the dire economic situation, and of course these figures don’t track second-hand sales or rentals.
Not all doom and gloom, per se, as the industry is obviously still very strong in the face of economic pressure and with the entertainment industry generally suffering from huge losses.
