Sony to announce sequel tomorrow?
Rumours are abound that Sony are going to announce a sequel “we didn’t expect” tomorrow afternoon. We know it will be a first-party title, and will be revealed by Gametrailers TV, as well as potentially having an announcement trailer on PSN.
After testing GOWIII, the GTV honcho said, “can’t believe how amazing God of War 3 looks. Sony’s first party developers really seem like they’re on another level!” Geoff Keighley went on to tweet, “Wait until you see what they are doing next….very soon on GTTV!”
Since we know it’s first party, this could mean something new from Santa Monica studios (who make God of War), or the newly acquired Media Molecule. Or, could it be confirmation of the Killzone 3 rumours?
There’s credence to all of these rumours. Santa Monica have been working away on an engine for GOWIII for a long time now. It’s possible they’ve a double-whammy for 2010. Media Molecule have been quiet for some time since LBP was released. Maybe it’s time for a sequel? Or possibly internet natter about Killzone 3 is a “no smoke without fire” scenario? Certainly, they’ve been active on forums and twitter – discussing their lack of developing abilities during the leap year issues on Monday. Also a domain ownership discovery could be more revealing then we suspected. On top of that killzone3.com discovery, people found motorstorm3.com – that’s certainly a possibility also!
Either way, not long to find out now!
There was a story months ago about Sony bringing a Franchise back from the dead. It could also be that!
Realistically it could be ANYTHING but I do hope for more Killzone action. The ending of KZ2 lent itself nicely to a sequel (or DLC) and the online community has been very, very active. Most active online community for such a long period of time since Halo… they’re gagging for new stuff
Yeah could throw about a few names, Resistance 3, Motorstorm 3, inFamous 2, but these don’t seem that surprising if they were announced.
I’d be keen to see Jak & Daxter on PS3.
Resistence 3 is due next year, is it not? (I thought a billboard of some movie was seen, and the movie is not out ’till next year)
