Steam for Mac: Out now

Over on Steampowered.com you, as a Mac user, can now download the Steam client for your desktop, as long as you’ve an Intel processor running 10.5.8 or higher. As a Mac user this pleases me greatly, but do beware of one caveat, the games list is not entirely populated just yet. In fact, the only proper game available right now… Continue »

Steam for Mac video

Something that has me all hot under the collar lately is the possibility of Steam for Mac. Playing Team Fortress 2 on my iMac or Macbook Pro is tantelising, so the sooner Valve release this the better. Closed beta is about to get under way but a plucky guy managed to get in and upload a screen-captured video of him… Continue »

Apple gains gaming market share

With the app store being so huge, and the iPhone and iPod Touch both selling gangbusters, it’s no surprise that a look into NPD figures show that both Sony and Nintendo need to take Apple seriously in the mobile gaming market, especially with the iPad due to hit shelves next month and Steam coming to OS X too. “It’s clear… Continue »

The Ubisoft DRM virus is...

With all the recent fiasco regarding Ubisoft’s new “constant connection” DRM for Assassins’ Creed 2 on PC, you’d think they’d get the picture and try to find something else to use instead? Seems not. Noticing the R.U.S.E beta appearing in my Steam games library, going straight to the store page for the game itself on Steam, shows that it too… Continue »

Steam coming to Mac!

We first reported on these rumours here, so it’s worth getting some context on this story. As a long-time Mac user this news blows my mind in ways I couldn’t even fathom, but Valve have finally seen the white, brushed-steel light and decided that in April, us glorious users of OS X will legitimately get to play Source-enabled games, including… Continue »
