6.5 Million PS3s Sold Over Christmas

It looks like the PS3 was a very popular pressie this holiday season, as Sony shifted a whopping 6.5 million units in the three months holiday period ending on December 31st. This is of course a huge number for Sony and this could well be down to the PS3 Slim, as there’s no doubt it has ignited some interest in gaming.

Either that, or gamers are getting sick of having to pay to play their friends on Modern Warfare 2.

  1. I think its a new attribute of this generation to own two consoles, I know thats what happened to me. One console exclusive too many pushed me over the edge….Killzone 2. Having both consoles is now affordable and because 360 was the most inexpensive(even though to kit it out properly you were practicely paying the same as you would have for a PS3 Fat) people got it first so I think it makes sense that Sony would see the increase after the price drop.

  2. I can see another price cut later in the year, probably for both consoles.
