Akimbo! Duel wielding in Modern Warfare 2?
Fourzerotwo had some interesting things to say on Twitter last night, just before I went to bed I noticed a post from him saying he was about to go into a presentation, showing off some MW2.
Well all hell has broken out this morning when after coming off stage he tweeted this.
“Just walked off stage. Crowd was amazing, went insane chanting ‘pick it up!’ when I stumbled over Dual-wield Deagles. lol – Akimbo confirmed”
Of coarse when this happened internet land went nuts, crying about players being overpowered and the whole face of MW multiplayer being ruined.
Luckily the Inifinity Ward big wig spotted the mayhem and posted again.
“Now to calm some initial fears of “OMG! Overpowered!”. Akimbo is limited and balanced, just like EVERYTHING in the game. It’s limited to sidearms, harder to aim than standard and you can’t go ADS (aim down sights) since you have a weapon in each hand; Among other balancing techniques, so don’t freak out before you see it in action.”
So there you have it! Straight from the horses mouth, good thing? Bad thing?
Everyone thought it was going to ruin Halo but obviously it didn’t, in fact its pretty uncommon to spot anyone Duel Wielding in Halo these days.
The most obvious thing that comes to mind is Grenade throwing will be affected by using both hands at the same time, my guess is it will be a nice feature to use when your low on ammo and that will be the end of it.
