What the Hell is the Javelin Glitch?
That’s what I heard a lot of at the weekend as I fought my way through about 8 hrs of MW2.
Well off I went last night to see if I could track down anyone using it. I certainly didn’t come across this during my time online but that may be because I generally play Domination or Detonation playlists where kills are not as important to people as they are in Deathmatch.
From what I can gather its a glitch by which you ”cook” you’re primary grenade while you switch weapons to the Javelin or any other launcher (apart from the Thumper). The result? Suicide bomb and a big one at that.
Major Nelson and FourTwoZero have both announced that anyone caught using the glitch will be suspended from Live, mild cheaters will get 24hrs while really bad folks will get longer suspensions. Players being punished for something that should have been seen during testing? Or maybe even the multiplayer Beta we were denied? Hmmh …..
Well thankfully Sony wont be taking any action against these people and from I have been reading on Twitter, fixes are already in place.
#MW2 PS3 update 1.06 is the javelin fix, care package glitch fix, and addresses areas where players could get into geo. Like rocks on Afghan
For those playing #MW2 on Xbox 360. The same fixes that are in 1.06 are coming to you, it’s currently in Microsoft cert. Out of my hands.
