Intel to produce Wii2 chip?
It appears that Intel, makers of computer chips found in a huge variety of devices, are in talks with Nintendo to supply the gaming giant with their next-gen processing solutions.
Intel have been working on a technology dubbed Larrabee, which is their answer to nVidia’s onslaught on the graphics processing market which is rumoured to be the tech Intel want inside the successor to the Wii.
No comment has come from either camp but the sources seem reputable, which gives credence to rumours earlier in the month of a Wii2 coming in 2010.
I think it might be 2011 till we see a new Wii, and I'm guessing it will be a new console with BC. I also reckon normal control pads will make a comeback.
Though I know gfx do not make a game the Wii is really starting to look dated compared to 360 and PS3.
I agree. Even a slight boost in graphics to give them some HD flare would be nice. I also doubt there'll be a device this year but maybe an e3 announcement is due with an early 2011 launch!
