Killzone HD remake?
For most, the title of this post may seem absurd. Killzone was in HD, hell, the new one will be in 3D!
But no, read between the lines. We’re talking about the first installation way back before there were PS3′s and 360′s. Way before HDTV, when 3D was still just an itch in James Cameron’s crotch. Now we have fancy consoles with great technology – one current trend is to re-release old games in HD. Well, one such game that should be optioned as a showpiece by Sony is their first foray into first-party shooters to combat Halo’s prowess. In fact, the first Killzone was a third party production by a joint collective of Dutch developers called The Lost Boys, who later renamed to Guerilla and were subsequently bought up by Sony.
Well, start the rumours of a HD remake for PSN on Killzone, as a cryptic tweet appeared by their official twitter account in response to a question posed by a fan.
Yes, it says “no comment” as you’d expect. But reading into it, there have been rumours floating around about this for some time, and adding a smiley face to the end of a tweet almost certainly indicates a wry smile. Could we be seeing some HD remake action in Killzone? It certainly would tie into the PR campaign for Killzone 3 early next year. Why not have a bit of Killzone action on your PS3 before Christmas?
