Spider the secret of Bryce Manor – Review
Just a short review for a game that has kept me enthralled for the last 24hrs.
Developed by Tiger Style games, Spider the The Secret of Bryce Manor is the definition of what a portable game should be. Completely honed to its platforms limitations, stylish and simple to pick up.
At its core Spider is a simple plat former where the goal is to create webs using geometrically placed threads and to capture the man different kind of flying insects.
The story element of the game is told through visual clues in the environment very like the Wii title Deadly Creatures.
The controls are simple to pick up, you simply point in the direction you want t o go and Spider will move accordingly, a quick swipe in any direction will send him pouncing into the sky like a pogo stick on crack.
The spider’s movements are wonderfully fluid and he can cover a lot of ground in a well placed jump.
The visual style is tight and consistent and new insect and tactics to tackle them with become available during its 2 hour run time. Whether your dive bombing hornets or setting traps around light bulbs before switching them on to attract moths to their doom, the game does more then enough to not out stay its welcome.
Anyway it’s highly recommend and for just under €3 you get achievements, 3 game modes and a great little game too.
