World of Warcraft Cataclysm

I know what you all are thinking, and yes I am a gigantic nerd. I, and the many millions of WoW players in the world, are now looking forward to the next expansion of the world famous Blizzard franchise, Cataclysm.

The biggest feature of this release for me is the addition of two new races, Goblins and Worgen. Now the Goblins are just the little green things that you see running around Gadgetzan and being mechanics. However, the Worgen is……a WEREWOLF!! This is going to be a very interesting addition to the WoW arsenal. The last addition, the Death Knight, was very disappointing. This is going to bring every young nerds dream to life. Abilities for the Worgen are rumored to include the ability to transform for combat instantly or transport.

Also coming in the new release, the level cap will be increased to 85. This is only half the usually increase so perhaps this is more of a very large patch than an expansion. This could effect the price also (hopefully).

The usual additions of areas and raid gear can be expected also. A rather interesting addition is the level phasing over the original islands. I find phasing quite a clever part of WoW. It basically allows a user, or many users, to see an exact replica of an area without effecting (and seeing) other players in that area. You can even make the area look different to one person. This is the system used for instances. Basically we will now be shown the areas Kalimdor and Eastern Kingdoms as now destroyed leaving only ruins. This will effect only certain players at a certain part of the game. It will bring the original levels back for many players and add a huge amount of content.

Also we can now use flying mounts in the original areas. This will mean a lot less walking around the Barrens for people :P

We now get another profession, Archeology. This allows players to unearth valuable artifacts. This could possible by mixed with enchanting or jewel crafting.

There are new combinations classes. Finally people can become a Blood Elf Warrior or if you are totally insane a Gnome Priest.

The release data has yet to be release but we can assume soon into 2010. I will keep you fellow nerds posted!

BTW, If you are on the Lightbringer EU Server you can add me (Rodohr) or on Defias Brotherhood you can add Igiggles.
