Bulletstorm is the worst game ever

FOX news is reporting that Bulletstorm (a new shooter from Epic) is the worst game ever. This means it’s all the more desirable… and being rewarded for shooting someone in the ‘buttocks’ sounds great.

In Bulletstorm due February 22, players are rewarded for shooting enemies in the private parts (such as the buttocks). There’s an excess of profanity, of course, including frequent use of F-words. And Bulletstorm is particularly gruesome, with body parts that explode all over the screen.

Also, the article went on… and what do you know, the experts at FOX didn’t like what they saw:

The in-game awards system, called Skill Shots, ties the ugly, graphic violence into explicit sex acts: “topless” means cutting a player in half, while a “gang bang” means killing multiple enemies. And with kids as young as 9 playing such games, the experts FoxNews.com spoke with were nearly universally worried that video game violence may be reaching a fever pitch.

The ultimate scenario here is that the article is aimed at parents of kids, but FOX (and other such agencies) have yet to figure out that some games aren’t for kids. Just like some movies aren’t for kids. There are more film-makers then Pixar, much like there are more game designers then Nintendo. I’ll enjoy Bulletstorm, but I’m in my twenties… kids won’t be allowed to buy it if their parents are being parental – instead of relying on shops and the games industry for help in that department.

The figurine of Mickey aside, the Special Edition is looking rather unimpressive and hardly worth the price tag. Hopefully we in Europe will be getting a much more interesting Special Edition.

God Of War III – HD install free

The PS3 has had a bit of a blasting about how so many games require an install before you can play, while this may have been more noticeable at the start, game developers have shown that you can stream a game from the disc without install. On the downside people are concerned their blu ray drive might crap out from all the work but can you seriously see anyone installing monster games that could easy be anywhere from 30-50GB!

The European version of GOW III is coming in around 40GB.

Look out for GOW III next month.

Kingdom Hearts III confirmed by Tetsuya Nomura

I’m a massive Kingdom Hearts fan and while the spin-offs have been keeping my addiction at bay what I really want to know is will there be a KHIII, we’ve not had a peep of info on any aspect of this game but in a recent interview in Famitsu Weekly, Nomura is quoted in saying :

Concerning Kingdom Hearts III, since there is demand from the current fans around the world, I will do my best to bring it into realization as quickly as possible.

While no detail this is great news, I imagine it might use the engine used in FFXIII Versus, so we might see the team start on that once Versus is released.
