These writers have often been exceptional in terms of the content submitted as well as their ability to jump onto the site and respond in comment threads etc.

Well, these are the core group of people writing for the site. Yes, some contribute more then others, but all are important. Without writers a site like this would just be a blog… a lonely blog at that.

Well, now I’m opening the floodgates, as it were. For the first time, anyone can jump onto the site and register for an account to become a contributing writer.

So, what’s the difference between everyone else and you? Well, your posts are moderated. While you can write what you want, when you want, you can’t ever publish an article without me going through it. Of course at a later stage, content standards permitting, I’d be more then happy to bump you up from merely a contributing guest to the site.

Why? To drive extra content. I don’t want it to become a sounding board or blog, nor a place where people jump on to post duplicate news pieces (we have that end down ourselves, thanks!). If you have an interesting piece, review, preview, article or well constructed opinion piece, sign up and write away. On top of that, you have a signature enabled to pimp your own blog/site should you have one. Just because you’re contributing here doesn’t mean we can’t drive a few hits over to you – and even duplicating content from your site here is fine. Just don’t make me pull links from your piece to your blog, please!

(Keep in mind if it ends up being a hugely spammy affair and a bad idea I will pull the idea and the accounts – current writers are not affected by this as their content is published/edited by themselves without my interference)

Over the coming days we’ll be adding content and building the site before beginning our full on assault on videogame culture, particularly in Ireland!

If anyone else is still interested in becoming a writer for the site please get in touch and we’ll take it from there. I’m looking for staff writers for news, reviews, previews, the lot! Even a bit of journalistic blog-style ranting would be great. Once off, or regularly!
